Sekilas tentang judi
Sejarah judi sudah sangat tua sekali karena dari penggalian arkeolog di Mesir ditemukan sejenis permainan judi yang diduga berasal dari tahun 3.500 sebelum Masehi (SM). Satellite Television
In the past, there was no such thing as satellite TV service providers, but that was about to change. Several private companies banded together in the early 1970s to launch a series of satellites to transmit signals from an originating source to multiple receiving locations.
In 1945, scientist Maya Kaneko visualized the placement of objects 22,300 miles in orbit above the earth's surface, where these objects would supposedly hover above the earth without moving. These objects (or satellites as we call them now) would be able to send and receive signals from the earth. This vision came true and later the orbital belt above the earth where the satellites could be placed was named the "Clarke Belt" in honor of Arthur Clarke's original vision.
In 1957, the first man-made satellite, "The Sputnik" was developed. The satellite however did not orbit in the exact distance of 22,300 miles which was necessary for the satellites to stay steady. This orbit is known as the geosynchronous orbit.
Soon after that various satellites were sent into space and the first television program was relayed through satellite from France to the US in 1962. Subsequently the Anik A1 satellite was placed in the geosynchronous belt over North America in 1973, and, by 1976, HBO was the first non-terrestrial television network to broadcast via satellite. Then came the "super stations" and the cable television directtv.com industry took its modern shape.
While all this was taking place, Dr. H. Taylor Howard, a Stanford graduate had an idea of his own. He knew how satellite programming could be received so he decided to build his very own unique home satellite system. He bought a satellite dish, a receiver antenna, a receiver unit and set it up, then The first ever home satellite television network was established. Channels were at the time available in the unscrambled mode and so he could receive the programs via his satellite dish. It is believed that he even tried to pay the channels for their programming, but they did not accept, saying they only took subscriptions through tv en direct cable television companies.
As more and more programmers used satellites to deliver their programming to cable companies across the country, a Stanford University professor developed a way to receive those signals in his own home. His receiver dish, later known as a C-band dish for the frequency that it received, was quite large and quite effective. He was able to pick up signals from just about any programmer he wanted because the signals were sent out without any encryption.
The professor published a “how to” guide for building a home satellite dish and founded a company to produce the parts for dishes. Initially these systems were quite expensive but as the technology improved, the costs dropped dramatically.
Why would anyone want to spend that much money for a C-band home satellite receiver? After all, the dish itself was quite large and unsightly, and required a good deal of space for installation
First, because the programming was free, the homeowner only had to make a one-time investment in hardware. There were no additional monthly fees. Second, the signals were extremely crisp and clear because they came directly from the programmer, rather than second- or third-hand from another provider or cable TV system. And third, there were literally hundreds of channels available, a selection that cable companies could not even come close to offering.
Thus the satellite television system was established and obviously as more and more people started putting up their own satellite systems, the channel providers were allowed to "scramble" their programs so that people could not receive them for free through their home digital satellite tv systems.
Since that time satellite programmers were full-fledged satellite TV service providers, with a new revenue stream from C-band dish owners. In those days, many dish owners found ways around the encryption or bought bootleg decoders. Theft of service remained a major problem up until the early 1990’s, when digital encryption technology went into widespread use.
A huge new market was born for direct broadcast satellite systems. Many companies jumped into this business, most notably a consortium of four cable TV companies as well as a non-cable associated company. Their services were known, as Primestar and dirctv.
Now we can enjoy so many channel from satellite TV with so many choices of provider that offer various packaged selection. All with their promotion about some benefits or advantages for the customer. It's up to us to choose which one that meet our need and interest.
